Helly Shah Skips Cannes 2025, Says “I Couldn’t Do Anything About It”

Helly Shah Skips Cannes 2025: Helly made waves with her stunning debut at the Cannes Film Festival in 2022, has revealed she won’t be attending the prestigious event this year. The actress had been in talks with a major brand for a potential appearance at Cannes 2025 but had to step back due to prior commitments.

“I was supposed to go this year. A big brand had approached me and we were working out the details. But my debut Gujarati film is releasing around the same time and hence, I had to opt out,” she shared.

While her decision was driven by professional priorities, Helly admits she’s a bit disappointed. “I am feeling a little bad, but I couldn’t do anything about it. I remember three years ago when I visited Cannes, I got a lot of love and was hoping to go there again.”

Helly’s appearance in 2022 was not only a personal milestone but also a major fashion moment her elegant red carpet looks quickly went viral, garnering praise from fans and fashion watchers alike. Reflecting on that time, she has openly embraced the love and attention that came with it.

Now turning her focus to films and digital content, Helly has been transitioning from her television roots to explore a broader canvas. Talking about this shift, she shares, “Films are very different from television. You work for a few weeks or months and then you’re free to look for your next project.”

Adjusting to the unpredictable pace of the film world took some time, but Helly says she’s grown to appreciate the process. “It took me a while to adjust to it, but now I’ve embraced it. I try to learn new skills during my free time. Sure, there are hard days, but I stay positive and wait for the right roles to come my way.”

Up next for the actress is her much awaited debut Gujarati film titled Surprise, which is set to hit theatres on May 16.
